Every month, we analyze the online reputation performance of more than 200 senior living operators and over 6,600 communities across the United States. This month's leaderboard wasn't defined by dramatic movement at the top. Instead, it reinforced something we've observed time and time again: consistency wins. The strongest reputation improvements aren't built through one exceptional month, rather they're the result of steady progress over time.
While a number of operators posted meaningful gains, the industry's overall performance remained remarkably stable. This is a sign that reputation improvements are increasingly being driven by steady progress rather than isolated spikes.
‍
Our proprietary Senior Living Reputation (SLR) Score combines four key indicators of online reputation (Google rating, review recency, review volume, and recent review trend) into a single 100-point score. Here's how the industry performed in August.
Taken together, those figures point to an encouraging trend. While the industry's overall average remained steady, a growing percentage of communities moved into the High Reputation tier, suggesting that incremental improvements are continuing to accumulate across the industry.
‍
Using the SLR Score we've identified the brands with the strongest overall online reputation across their portfolios. As always, the rankings reflect performance across multiple review KPIs, not just average star ratings.
The industry's highest-performing brands continue to demonstrate something we've seen repeatedly over the past year: maintaining a top reputation isn't about one exceptional month. It's about consistently earning positive reviews, responding to resident and family feedback, and sustaining momentum over time.
While rankings shifted modestly throughout the Top 10, the overall group remains remarkably stable which is a testament to the sustained operational focus required to remain among the industry's reputation leaders.
‍
Several larger operators (15 or more communities) posted notable improvements last month.
Among the strongest gainers were:
At the same time, a handful of operators experienced modest declines, reinforcing that reputation management is an ongoing process rather than a one-time initiative.
‍
Perhaps the most encouraging takeaway this month isn't found in the leaderboard itself—it's found in the underlying community data.
Compared with July:
None of those changes is dramatic on its own.
Together, however, they point to something important: more communities are consistently engaging residents and families in ways that generate ongoing positive feedback.
That's exactly the type of steady improvement that ultimately drives stronger long-term reputation performance.
‍
One exceptional review rarely changes a community's reputation. Neither does one difficult month. Instead, reputation is built through hundreds of interactions, consistently delivered over time.
This month's leaderboard serves as a reminder that the strongest-performing operators aren't necessarily those making the biggest monthly jumps. They're the organizations that continue earning positive feedback, maintaining review momentum, and steadily reinforcing the trust they've already built with residents and families.
We'll continue tracking those trends each month as the industry's reputation landscape evolves.

The overall industry changed little this last month, but several larger operators proved meaningful progress is still possible. Explore the latest rankings, key trends, and the brands building momentum.

Why looking beyond the Google rating can reveal where a community's reputation is headed.
